Custom Voice Prompts, Cantonese Custom Voice Prompts

You can download our canned voice prompts for a language of your choice, or you can create your own voice prompts.

Installation Instructions
  1. Click the download link to begin the download of the voice prompts you want.
  2. Extract the files from the compressed folder. This can be done using a third party extraction software or Windows XP/Vista has this capability built-in.
  3. Next you will need to transfer these files to the appropriate directory folder so that the Ostia program will find them correctly.
    To reach the directories below, on your Desktop/Laptop PC double-click: My Computer > Mobile Device > My Pocket PC
    • If you are using Ostia 3.32 or older, place the sound files in "Windows" on your Pocket PC.
    • If you are using Ostia 4.0 or higher, place the sound files in "Program Files\Ostia\Lilt\Custom".
    • If you are using Ostia 6.0 or higher, place the sound files in "Program Files\Ostia\Custom".
    NOTE: In Ostia versions 3.32 or older, by placing the new voice prompts into the directory you will be erasing the original ones. You may want to back up these files or else you will need to reinstall the Ostia program to regain the original prompts.
  4. If you are using Ostia 3.32 or older the new voice prompts will start working automatically.
    If you are using Ostia 4.0 or higher, you will need to go to the Setup menu, Voice Options, then choose Custom for the new voice prompts to work. If you are using Ostia 6.0 or higher, you will need to go to the Tools > Options > Voice Options and select Custom.
Creating Your Own Voice Prompts

The voice prompts are standard .wav files and can be replaced by new files with the corresponding names. Use the following steps to create and replace the voice prompts.

  1. Record the following messages using either your record button on your Pocket PC or record them using a microphone and the Sound Recorder on your Desktop/Laptop PC.
  2. Use the this table to record your prompts and name them accordingly:
