Hi,
I'm considering purchasing a used MS GPS 500 for use with a telescope mount. I've seen several posts which show how to use the pin out directly i.e. without the MS USB2Serial converter. I have two questions for the knowledgeable:
1. I'd like to keep the GPS connector untouched, so that I can occasionally use the USB2Serial to connect to a computer. What type of connector plugs into the GPS? I'd like to build a cable with a connector that I can simply plug into the gps rather than soldering.
2. The UTC Date / Time and Local Time Zone Offset information is critical for my application. Does the GPS500 output the NEMA $GPZDA string?
Many Thanks for your help
