Posted - 11/18/2008 : 07:42:26 Hello, Here are the instructions that will help you download Maps 6.10 from your Pharos online account:
1. Click on this link https://www.pharosgps.com/customers/customerlogin.asp?refURL=%2Fdefault.asp% 25 (make sure that you copy this entire link, because sometimes it gets cut off. The link should end with asp%25)
2. Enter your email address and password that you registered with and hit Login.
3. Click on option Maps & Software Download -> click Maps 6.10 -> and here you will be able to download maps.
4. To download a map click on the map that you want and select save. Save the file to your desktop. (do not select open).
5. Double click on the file that you just saved. It will prompt you to unzip the file. Select unzip and then it will default to C: -> PharosMaps_USA. Then open my computer -> C: Drive (Local Disk) -> PharosMaps_USA -> locate the 6 files that were just unzipped (.rmf .inx .cash .fuel .hotel .food).
6. Right click on all 6 of the files and select copy. Connect your PPC to your desktop computer via the USB cable or the sync cable and Open My Computer -> Mobile device -> My Pocket PC -> Storage Card (SD Card) -> My Documents (If you don't have a My Documents folder then create one and it is case sensitive) -> Right click in a blank space and press paste. You will now be able to view the maps in Ostia on your GPS device.

Posted - 11/16/2008 : 20:56:21 Hi
I have the GPS 135 and have been using in the Seattle area with no problem.. I was looking to update some of the maps in my device so I followed the help instructions in the email below. • I downloaded from the Pharos website the WA_SEATTLE 6 files to my computer. • I synchronized my GPS to my computer and opened the My Documents folder. • I didn’t find files with the same title but found WA_SEATTLE-TACOMA-OLYMPIA. • I pasted the WA_SEATTLE 6 files in the card. • As advised, I tried to delete the 6 WA_SEATTLE-TACOMA-OLYMPIA files. • I tried to use my GPS but I get a blue screen with the clock running and a message “Tap screen to tell me where you are”. • When I do, it gives me drop down menu with all states. • When I select WA_SEATTLE, it goes back to the first menu (closed loop). • I tried GPS and Factory reset but didn’t help.
I unfortunately didn’t save the old WA_SEATTLE-TACOMA-OLYMPIA files I deleted. Could you please help?

Hello,
First, I would suggest for you to delete the old map data thats on the SD card. Here are some steps that might be of help to you:
1. Make sure that you have installed the Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 program on your computer. If you haven't, you could obtain it from www.microsoft.com
2. Connect your device to your computer and make sure that you are synchronized and connected
3. Double click on My Computer -- Mobile Device -- SDMMC -- My Documents -- select and delete all of the maps that are inside of this folder
Connect your PPC to your desktop computer via the USB cable or the sync cable and Open My Computer -> Mobile device -> SDMMC-> My Documents (If you don't have a My Documents folder then create one and it is case sensitive) -> Right click in a blank space and press paste. You will now be able to view the maps in Ostia on your GPS device.
Please feel free to let me know if you need additional assistance.

Posted - 10/02/2008 : 12:56:21 Barry, I would suggest for you to make sure that you are signed into your Pharos online account. You could sign in by going into, https://www.pharosgps.com/customers/customerlogin.asp?refURL=%2Fdefault.asp%3F&x=47&y=11.
We attempted to download map 6.1 CT_Connecticut and we were able to download the map succesfully. What is the operating system on your computer and what browser are you using?

Posted - 09/28/2008 : 17:57:30 I have also been trying to download maps for the past serveral days. As of this post, the website is not repaired. Can you look into this issue? The error message I contiune to receive is related to a broken link on the page that comes up after the download link is clicked: Page cannot be found. Resulting link is:
http://www.pharosgps.com/maps/get_binary.asp?map=CT_CONNECTICUT
Thank you for your assistance, Barry
